The excess flow functionality of the internal valve shuts off flow automatically if there are large changes in pressure. The ball valve feature allows for manual shut-off by a lever whereas remote control is possible using other actuators. The internal installation increases safety dramatically by avoiding the shearing of the valve in terms of mechanical impact.

    A threaded excess flow valve is a bi-directional valve that shuts off flow in one direction if it exceeds a predetermined value. Its bleed-off feature assists in pressure equalisation.
