New CEO at GEC
Gas Equipment Company, Inc (GEC) has entered into a new era with the appointment of a new CEO who will take over from former CEO Skeeter LaDue. GEC is part of MAKEEN Energy’s gas equipment division.
Generational change in the USA: Gijs Majoor is new CEO of GEC
GEC is a company with a long and proud history. Established in 1937 by Milt LaDue, it has been under the leadership of his grandson Skeeter for the past 23 years. But now, Skeeter has handed over the reins to his successor, Gijs Majoor, who is the new CEO of GEC since October 2021.
A strong industry profile
Gijs is no stranger to the gas market, coming from a position as the Vice President of Supply Chain and Sustainable Fuels at Pinnacle Propane, which is a subsidiary of the global leader in LPG supply SHV Energy. Originally from the Netherlands, he has lived in Texas, USA, since 2017.
I am honoured to be entrusted with carrying on Skeeter’s legacy and leading this renowned company forward. There is a lot to live up to, but with our excellent team, and the support of our MAKEEN Energy colleagues around the world, I am certain that we will achieve great things together.
Passing on the knowledge
Although he has stepped down from the top, Skeeter is not going away yet. In line with the MAKEEN Energy philosophy of generational change, he will step into an advisory role from the beginning of 2022, to offer his experience and knowledge of the North American LPG industry.
