When it comes to detecting LPG leaks, there is one tool that is cheap, effective and readily available: the human nose. However, our noses need a little help to be able to pick up on LPG, as it is completely odourless on its own. This is why a strong-smelling agent, an odorant, is always mixed in with the LPG - without it, you could have a room full of gas and never know about it before it was too late.
An odorant delivery system is designed to add odour (most commonly mercaptan, also known as methanethiol) to gas and is therefore a crucial part of any filling operation. At MAKEEN Gas Equipment, we have put together a system that is easy, convenient and able to fulfil all but the highest capacity demands. The price of purchase and installation is extremely competitive, thanks to the system's efficient design and relatively small size.
The system features a 6 or 12 litre buffer tank unit with a pneumatic pump and flow switch, a barrel with quick connectors, and a Kosan Crisplant control unit based on Kosan Crisplant's tried-and-true CUC software.
If desired, we can also deliver the system with a spill containment tray, a cabinet, or an ATEX Zone 1 heating system. The latter is a requirement for installation in areas where the temperature drops below freezing, in order to avoid ice crystals getting stuck in the flow switch and check valves.
