A regenerative turbine pump moves liquid through an impeller, where it circulates several times before leaving the pump at a higher pressure. This operating principle allows the pump to generate a relatively high differential pressure at a lower flow rate.

Turbine pumps are well suited to LPG filling plants and transfer systems where stable performance and precise flow are important. Their compact, single-stage design also supports straightforward maintenance. We can supply models with different capacities, pressure ranges, connections, and approvals to match the application and installation requirements.

Why use a turbine pump for LPG?

LPG has a low viscosity and is stored and transferred under pressure. These conditions require a pump that can maintain reliable flow while handling the operating demands associated with liquids that have a high vapour pressure.

A regenerative turbine pump can produce high differential pressure at a comparatively low flow rate. It achieves performance similar to a multistage pump using only a single-stage impeller. This makes it a compact option for LPG filling and transfer systems where space may be limited.

The pump’s internal flow pattern also helps it handle small amounts of vapour within the liquid. This can reduce the risk of cavitation—a condition where vapour bubbles form and disturb pump performance. The result is smoother operation with limited pulsation, noise, and vibration.

Compact design and straightforward maintenance

Regenerative turbine pumps have relatively few moving parts. In many models, the impeller operates without metal-to-metal contact, which can help reduce wear and support longer service intervals.

A removable pump cover provides access to important components, such as the impeller and mechanical seal. Depending on the model and installation, these parts may be serviced without disconnecting the complete pump from the pipework. This can reduce maintenance time and help operators return the pump to service sooner.
