No power? No problem. With our off-grid solutions, you can start filling anywhere in a short time with a minimal investment.
LPG is an attractive fuel in areas with limited or no electricity, where it can be used for cooking, heating, and powering generators. But because of the limited access to power, the filling of cylinders is often done far away, in large filling halls where the energy grid is more stable. An off-grid filling solution is a great way to circumvent this problem and get closer to the consumer.
KC ProSupply's off-grid filling solution is powered by 9.6 m2 of solar panels (6 x 290W) and a 2400W inverter, with a 3000W LPG generator for backup on cloudy days. An 8x100 Ah battery pack stores energy obtained during sunlight hours, allowing it to be used at a later time. This is especially effective in areas with vast solar resources such as Central Africa or other hot climates on earth.
The package features one or two KCFiLL1 machines. These electronic filling machines are known for their accuracy and versatility and are second to none when it comes to value for money in low capacity filling. They require no complex installation: just plug them in, and you're all set. Two of these machines can achieve a filling capacity of approx. 90 cylinders per hour.
Our solution also features an air compressor (up to 600W) and a 1.1 kW single phase pump unit with hoses and a built-in bypass valve. Naturally, an emergency stop is included, and a gas detection system is also available if desired. All equipment has been carefully selected to ensure high safety standards.
In order to function, the system has to be connected to an LPG storage tank. This can be an existing tank, or you can contact KC ProSupply and we will find one that suits your needs.
What are the advantages of off-grid filling?
By filling close to the consumer, you can reach new markets and more customers with fewer cylinders.
Even though the capacity is low, there are many things to gain from an off-grid filling plant. Here are some of the biggest advantages that you can expect to see:
- Distributed filling: With an off-grid filling solution, your filling can be distributed to several smaller facilities rather than one big filling plant. This allows you to become closer to the end users and drastically reduce the necessary amount of cylinders in rotation. With centralised filling, you typically need 3 to 4 cylinders per end user. With distributed filling in off-grid plants, you can reduce that number to around 2 cylinders per end user.
- Low cost: The cost of setting up and running an off-grid filling plant is relatively small, making it an attractive option for small businesses.
- Grow your customer base: By not having to rely on the presence of a stable power grid, you can reach more potential customers and test new markets.
- Support development: In regions like Central Africa or South East Asia, an astounding amount of people live with zero or minimal access to electricity, meaning that many turn to burning wood, straw or dung when cooking - an extreme health hazard. Off-grid filling can be an important step in introducing LPG to these communities and reducing the number of annual casualties of household pollution.
